Keeping the Balance.
My passion for highlining and motorsport has had a direct impact on my career.
The attention to detail, risk management, and leadership skills these activities demand has put me to the test in many high-stakes situations.
Highlining
"The only thing in my life that seemed truly impossible."
Highlining combines engineering and the art of balance in a sport that seems truly absurd in nature. I enjoy the challenges of rigging highlines, walking them, and doing freestyle tricks in front of crowds.
Over the years I've helped rig and walk highlines over a kilometre long, rigged highline festivals with hundreds of participants, and competed in a freestyle World Cup alongside the best competitors worldwide.
Engineering Systems
Understanding physics, meticulously planning rigs, and designing rescue protocols
Personal Growth
Committing to training, safety, and rigging knowledge while overcoming discomfort and fear
Motorsport
"If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail."
Racing is an intersection of executing when it matters combined with intense preparation, teamwork, and attention to detail. If a single point failed on the vehicle the weekend could be over for us.
My co-driver and I were two-time champions in the CASC GT Challenge, a multi-class series in Eastern Canada. Afterwards I provided driving instruction at CTMP for various track-day events.
Experience Design
Not only did the car need to be fast around the track, it also needed to feel predictable
Execution
Given the high stakes I always needed to be able to provide a good result under pressure
The Common Thread
Highlining and racing teach the same lessons: preparation, attention to detail, performing under pressure, and overcoming one's fears to achieve greater things than thought possible.
